Delete your Sleep Talk Recorder account

You can ask us to delete your Sleep Talk Recorder account and the data that belongs to it at any time. This page explains how, what we delete, and what we keep.

How to request deletion

Send an email to feedback@sleeptalkrecorder.com with the subject “Delete my account”, and include:

the username of your Sleep Talk Toplist account
the email address you gave when you created the account, if you gave one

We may ask you a question to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it. We delete the account within 30 days of your request and confirm by email when it is done.

What we delete

Your account: username, password, email address and country
The clips you have shared to the Sleep Talk Toplist, with their names and the votes they received

What we keep, and why

Anonymous usage statistics. The Android app sends anonymous events with a random installation ID that is not linked to your account, name or email. Because we cannot tell which statistics belong to you, they are not deleted, but they cannot identify you either.
Purchases and subscriptions. Payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store, not by us. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. To cancel it, go to Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions on Android, or Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iPhone.
Information we must keep by law, for example for accounting, for as long as the law requires.

Recordings on your phone

Your nights and recordings are stored only on your phone, not on our servers, unless you share a clip to the toplist. To remove them, delete them in the app, or uninstall the app. On Android you can also clear the app’s data under Settings → Apps → Sleep Talk Recorder → Storage → Clear data. This also creates a new anonymous installation ID.
